2013年8月和2014年8月应邀前往荷兰著名大学乌特勒支大学（Utrecht University, The Netherlands）开展关于Web 2.0时代的新闻和广告研究（News & Advertising in Web 2.0）的研究合作，期间应邀担任享誉欧洲的乌特勒支暑期学校（Utrecht Summer School）国际讲师，讲授社会符号学及跨文化交际等专题内容。

该论文的研究为新加坡国立大学互动电子媒体研究院的多模态分析实验室（Multimodal Analysis Lab, Interactive & Digital Media Institute, NUS）所承担的由新加坡国家研究基金资助的“Events in the World”项目（项目编号NRF2007IDM-IDM002-066）的子项目内容，该项目由Kay O’Halloran博士主持。
主持科研项目
1) 广东省科学技术厅2015年公益研究与能力建设专项项目：《广东省高校网络科普资源开发及共享模式构建研究》，经费：10万，已结项（2015-2018）。
