Hongwei Chen is Professor of English at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, a member of editorial board of Literature Compass, and the project director of NSFC Research Project “A Study of Myth Retelling in Contemporary Western Drama and Imagined Communities”. She is interested in research on western drama, mythology and drama, literature and ethics of technology. She is the author and co-author of thirteen books, Adaptation (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, 2020), Shakespeare’s Presence in the Post-War English Drama (Peking University Press, 2019), A Guide to the Two Sources of Western Civilization (China Renmin University Press, 2015, 2018), The Creative Dynamics of the Duality in Harold Pinter’s Dramatic Writings (China Renmin University Press, 2014), Margin and Center: Tom Stoppard the Playwright (Peking University Press, 2013). She is also the author of over fifty academic papers.
