Title: An Eco-Ethical Approach to Ted Hughes’s Poetry
标题：特德·休斯诗中的生态伦理思想
Abstract: The contemporary British poet Ted Hughes features a rich presentation of flora and fauna imagery in several poetry collections, including The Hawk in the Rain, Crow, Cave Birds, and River, and the power and resistance of nature and the living world have become his favorite themes. However, Ted Hughes's intense interest in plant and animal imagery of his poetry does not merely use these images as figurative or decorative. However, he uses them to think and explore, find the connection between man and nature through these images of nature, and express his own ecological and ethical thoughts. The fundamental purpose of his description of nature is to provide moral experience for human existence, to enrich the connotation of social ethics with ecological ethics, and to provide the necessary moral warnings for the harmonious coexistence between man and nature as well as for the sustainable development of human beings.
摘 要：英国当代著名诗人特德·休斯在《雨中鹰》、《乌鸦》、《穴鸟》、《河流》等多部诗集中以丰富的动植物意象的呈现为特色，自然界、生物界的力量与抗争成了他最喜爱的也是最得心应手的主题。但是，特德·休斯诗歌创作中对动植物意象的浓厚的兴趣，并不仅仅把这些意象作为具象或装饰来使用，而是以它们来进行思维和探索，或通过这些自然意象来寻找人与自然的关联，表达他自己的生态伦理思想。他的自然抒写，其根本目的在于给人类的生存提供道德经验，以生态伦理来丰富社会伦理的内涵，为人类与自然和谐相处以及人类的可持续发展提供必要的道德警示。

Bio: Di WU, Ph.D., professor, director at the research Institute for World Literature and Comparative Literature, Zhejiang University. He is the commissioner of the National Funds for Social Science, member of Chinese Writer’s Union, chair of China Association for Comparative Studies of Languages and Cultures, chair of Zhejiang Provincial Association for Comparative Literature and Foreign Literature. His research interests include English poetry, Russian literature, and literary translation studies. His main research programs include the national important key research program “The Formation and Dissemination of Foreign Literary Canons”, the national key research program “History of Russian Fiction”, the national research program “English Metaphysical Poetry”. He has published 10 monographs, more than 30 books of translations, and edited 60 works. Among his representative works are Studies in English Metaphysical Poetry, Comparative Study of Euro-American Poetry, Complete Lyrical Poems of Percy Bysshe Shelley and Complete Works of Alexander Pushkin in 10 Volumes. His publications got such prizes as China Book Prize, Ministry of Education Prize for Social Science, Zhejiang Provincial Prize for Social Science and many others.
简介：吴笛，文学博士，现任浙江大学世界文学与比较文学研究所所长、二级教授、浙江大学世界文学跨学科研究中心副主任，兼任国家社科基金学科评审组专家，（中国）中外语言文化比较学会会长、中国外国文学学会英国文学分会副会长、浙江省比较文学与外国文学学会会长等职，系中国作家协会会员。主要从事英美诗歌研究、俄罗斯文学研究、文学翻译研究，主持国家社科基金重大项目、重点项目、重大项目子课题、一般项目、后期资助项目等多项国家级外国文学类科研项目的研究。出版《哈代新纶》《俄罗斯小说发展史》等学术专著10多部，《苔丝》《雪莱抒情诗全集》等文学译著30多部，《外国名诗鉴赏辞典》《外国文学经典生成与传播研究》等编著60多部。研究成果多次获教育部和省级优秀成果奖、其中《英国玄学派诗歌研究》获浙江省哲学社会科学优秀成果奖一等奖。
